Quickstart Guide
Get up and running with Chatlo in less than 5 minutes. This guide walks you through the core loop: Creating a Workspace, taking a Note, and using AI to test your knowledge.
1. Create your First Workspace
Everything in Chatlo is organized by Workspaces. You can think of a Workspace as a specific class you are taking, a client you are managing, or a domain of knowledge you want to study.
- Navigate to your Dashboard.
- Click New Workspace in the top sidebar.
- Give it an emoji and a title (e.g. Biology 101).
Pro-Tip: Folders
You can nest folders inside of Workspaces for even more granular organization. For example, "Biology 101" can have nested folders for "Genetics" and "Ecology".
2. Transcribe a Lecture (or just type)
Now that you have a Workspace, it's time to create your first note.
- Click the large New Note button.
- Give your note a title.
- You can either begin typing normally using our rich Markdown editor, or click the Microphone icon at the top right to start a live transcription session.
- If you choose Voice Transcription, just speak normally. Chatlo's AI will parse your speech, remove filler words like "um" and "uh", and perfectly format it into readable paragraphs and lists.
3. Test Yourself
Once you've filled your note with information, don't just passively read it. Ask the AI to test your retention.
- Look at the right-hand panel of your note.
- Click Generate Flashcards. The AI will scan your note and instantly create a deck of Spaced Repetition flashcards.
- Click Generate Quiz to take a Multiple Choice exam based strictly on the contents of the document.
